Few ones can say that they know everything about fishing in the surroundings of Letnyaya Zolotitsa. Even local Pomor people, who sailed in local rivers, lakes and sea since they were children, have never caught some local species of fish. Some have never caught a magnificent trout, the others have never seen a lumpfish, and somebody has never caught a truly gigantic salmon. In days gone by here the individual examples of 40 kg were caught, but today’s fixed record is salmon of 32 kg of weight.

That is clear because here we have a White sea coast, which is 100 km long, numerous islands, straits, inlets, countless rivers, lakes, streams… and few fishermen. The choice, how to say it carefully, is grand either for freshwater or seawater fishing. Among the trophies we have breams, burbots, amazing whitefish that turn into the best fish course of the whole life afterwards.

You can “hunt” trout, brown trout, pike, perch – it is catching. There can happen such fishing adventures that make adrenaline rush all over the body. You shouldn’t forget about winter fishing in fresh and sea water. And it does not always boil down to freezing as the fisherman’s hut with hot tea and fish soup is very close.

Lake fishing is available even at the beginning of May on the ice that is still firm. The advantage is your catch plus tan! Actually speaking, winter fishing has become traditional for these places long ago. Pomor women arrange “women’s club meetings” while fishing.

But if you come from May to September, you can fish all day long. Summer is the time of White Nights. Days are long, and the impressions of wakening and then flourishing nature are very bright. And fishing is diverse, starting from active one that stimulates the fisherman’s body, ending with relaxed catching without any tension, when you enjoy not so much the calming noise of water as the silence… Here “fun” fishing is also possible, it is when you catch a plaice with the help of your feet… The catch varies from small-sized fish that “nibbles” well, such fish as dace, siberian roach, navaga, to great trophies for the lucky ones. It does not matter what the result is, you will certainly have a lot to tell!

Starting from 2010 the new possibility for “fish lovers” will be available. It is the excursions to the salmon recovery river complex and trout breeding farm.
