Excursions to Solovetsky archipelago

9 variants at option depending on weather conditions and group decision.

The start in “Letnyaya Zolotitsa” by hovercraft “Marina”

(1)      Excursion over Solovetsky fortress (3,5 hours). Visit to operating cathedrals and monuments, included into UNESCO World Heritage list.

(2)      Visit to Botanic gardens (3 hours) it is the northernmost of all Russia’s botanic gardens. A possibility to see the unique plantings of different periods of Solovetsky islands’ history and Makary’s Hermitage, and also to enjoy the view of Solovetsky monastery ensemble.

(3)      Excursion “On the blue and green roads of Solovki”. You will see the beautiful panorama of Blagopoluchiya Bay (Prosperity bay) and unique natural landscapes, also you will pass the ancient monastic road.

(4)      Sea voyage to Anzersky island. Walking tour past Golgotha lake to the Calvary cathedral (Raspyatiya Gospodnya cathedral). Exposure to the sanctities of Golgofo-Raspyatsky skete.

(5)      Sea voyage to Anzersky island. Visit to Svyato-Troitsky and Golgofo-Raspyatsky sketes. A possibility to see the famous “pyramid” that is connected by legend with the mysteriously disappeared Hyperborea.

(6)      Excursion “Crafts and arts of Solovetsky monastery” will show you the expositions “Solovetsky underground architecture”, “Solovetsky waterworks”, and household outbuildings of the South side.

(7)      Bike (bus) tour to Sekirnaya mount (3 hours) – to one of the monastic sketes, where the penalty squadron was situated during the times of Solovetsky prison camp. Sekirnaya mount is the highest peak of Bolshoy Solovetsky island. The astonishing view of the northern part of Bolshoy Solovetsky island and the White sea is revealed from its top.

(8)      Sea voyage to unique Zayatsky island and the view of Andreevsky skete monuments, unique tundra wildlife reservation, and ancient labyrinths – the biggest group of Neolithic constructions dated II-I thousand B.C. As the legend says during the stay on Bolshoy Zayatsky island, where famous “northern labyrinths” made by the unknown tribe (according to some versions – Celts) are situated, body functioning is stabilized. For instance in 10-15 minutes high blood pressure is normalized and at the same time a burst of vital power may take place. Moreover, men’s brain “works better there, and women can be cured from infertility…”

(9)      Sea voyage to cape Beluzhy to the “natural dolphinarium” to watch white whales (3 hours).

Important! In case of adverse weather conditions some excursions can be replaced by those of equal value. Excursions by sea, lakes, canals take part if there is no storm warning.
